This bike was
acquired as a unused machine that had been standing for several years. The
first 7 photos are how we got it, heavy smell of stale fuel and cob webs in all
the hidden places. Lots of the exposed metal seems to have been covered with a
protective coating or something has been spilt on it which seems to have saved
it from to much rust. Before trying to start it the plug was removed and a
small amount of fresh fuel poured down the plug hole, carb was stripped and the
tank drained and cleaned and filled with fresh fuel.
Three kicks later
and it fired up and ran sweat as a nut, now to find out what model it is? Its
seems to say 205 on the tank, but its not very clear. We were told it was a
125, but it now believe its a 156cc. |
This bike rides really well, but haveing had a
close look I found a few problems that I have started to put right, here they
are.
I found, cracks around the frame, now welded, cracked handle bar,
where the cross bar is clamped on, replaced, I can only guess that it has been
well used, will keep an eye out for more cracks. The rear tyre was turning on
the rim, found the clamp was rusted away inside, replaced with a modern one.
Removed and cleaned all the grease points, as no new grease would go in where
it was needed. The brakes are realy sharp, compared to the TY, I may see if
there are other pads around for it.
I really would like
some tech info on this bike if anyone has any please let me know.
